Mumbai-based solar firm installs 100-kW rooftop solar plant at a housing society.

Oorjan, a distributed solar company, recently said it has installed a 100-kilowatt rooftop solar plant at a housing society in Mumbai.

The installation was done across the high-rise towers consisting of more than 230 solar panels installed over 7,500 square feet shadow-free area.

“This project at Mahavir Universe Phoenix Society in Bhandup, Mumbai, is expected to save Rs. 20 lakh every year for the society and its green impact will be equivalent to planting 4,500 teak wood trees,” said Gautam Das, co-founder and CEO of Mumbai-based Oorjan Cleantech.

According to the company press release, the project is expected to have a payback period of three years.
