Miltenyi Biotec establishes Cell and Gene Therapy Centre of Excellence in Hyderabad.

Germany-based Miltenyi Biotec, a global provider of cell and gene therapy (CGT) solutions, has inaugurated a dedicated Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Hyderabad’s Genome Valley to drive innovation in advanced medical research.

The newly launched Miltenyi Innovation and Technology Centre (MITC) is designed to accelerate the development of cell and gene therapies by integrating cutting-edge technologies, expertise, and best practices. The facility aims to contribute to breakthroughs in treating diseases such as cancer.

Telangana IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu, who inaugurated the center, highlighted its significance in strengthening the state's life sciences sector. “The inauguration of MITC showcases Telangana’s growing role as a hub for life sciences research and innovation. This facility reinforces our vision of positioning Telangana as a global leader in advanced biotechnology and healthcare solutions, particularly in cell and gene therapies,” he stated.

Toon Overstijns, Managing Director of Miltenyi Biomedicine and a board member at Miltenyi Biotec, emphasized the company’s commitment to medical advancements. “MITC is a pivotal step in accelerating the global revolution in cell and gene therapies. We are dedicated to empowering the scientific community and transforming the lives of patients worldwide. This center reflects our ongoing commitment to advancing medical research and delivering robust solutions in cell and gene therapy,” he said.
