L&T Secures 'Ultra Mega' Contract from NTPC for Thermal Power Plants in Madhya Pradesh and Bihar.
Infrastructure giant Larsen & Toubro (L&T) announced recently that it has secured an 'ultra mega' order from NTPC Ltd., India's largest power utility, to establish thermal power plants in Madhya Pradesh and Bihar. Orders valued above ₹15,000 crore are classified as 'ultra mega' by the company. This contract was awarded to L&T Energy CarbonLite Solutions, a specialized business vertical within L&T, according to a regulatory filing.
The scope of the project includes the design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, installation, and commissioning of boilers, turbines, electrostatic precipitators, and other essential systems, along with related mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and civil works.
"We are committed to delivering these projects with excellence and on a tight schedule," stated Subramanian Sarma, L&T’s whole-time director and President of the Energy segment.
L&T is a $27 billion multinational company based in India, focusing on engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services, high-tech manufacturing, and services, with a presence in over 50 countries worldwide.
