Lincoln Electric opens welding consumables plant at Chennai

Chennai: US-based welding equipment manufacturer, Lincoln Electric Holdings, opened its welding consumables manufacturing unit in Chennai.

The company has invested $20 million for setting up its first welding consumables manufacturing unit in India.

Lincoln will produce semi and fully automated welding tools. In the first phase, the plant will produce 80,000 tonnes of equipments a year. It will double its capacity in the second phase.

The firm has plans for expanding its operations by setting up multiple manufacturing units in India.
