Land for world class railway station project.
Mangalore City Corporation is identifying the land required for developing Mangalore Junction as the world class railway station.
The Commissioner in-charge of the corporation, Gokuldas Nayak, informed this to a meeting to review the progress of railway-related projects in Mangalore recently. The Dakshina Kannada MP, Nalin Kumar Kateel, had convened the meeting.
The Southern Railway has around 63 acres of land at Mangalore Junction for the renovation. In addition to this, the corporation is planning to identify another 100 acres of land for the world-class railway station project, Nayak said.
