KIMS Hospitals Enters Kerala Market, Plans to Add 3,000 Beds Over Five Years.
Hyderabad-based Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) Hospitals has announced plans to expand its presence in Kerala by adding 3,000 new beds over the next five years through the development of new medical facilities and strategic acquisitions.
Currently, KIMS operates over 16 hospitals with more than 5,000 beds across Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Kerala, and Karnataka. The expansion will enhance KIMS’s footprint in Kerala, where it has already taken over Sreechand Hospital in Kannur and entered an operations and management agreement with Westfort Hospital in Thrissur.
Chairman and Managing Director Bhaskar Rao stated that KIMS aims to make accessible and affordable healthcare available to all, ensuring that financial constraints do not limit patient access to high-quality treatment. As part of its expansion plan, KIMS will build new hospitals across Kerala's 14 districts, including a dedicated oncology and transplant center in Kannur and a 350-bed advanced treatment facility in Thrissur.
Farhan Yasin, CEO of KIMS Kerala Cluster, emphasized that the expansion will bring cutting-edge healthcare services to Kerala, raising healthcare standards and extending top-tier medical care to all sections of the population.
