Jubilant FoodWorks Plans to Open 3,000 Domino’s Stores in Three Years.

Jubilant FoodWorks Ltd (JFL) is set to expand Domino’s footprint to 3,000 stores over the next three years, with a strong focus on smaller towns, particularly in tier 3 regions. The leading food services company is also scaling up its fried chicken brand, Popeyes, as part of its strategic growth plans.

In line with its digital transformation efforts, JFL has introduced Elate, India’s first Android-based point-of-sale (POS) and order-taking system, specifically designed for the food service industry. This innovation aims to enhance operational efficiency and streamline customer experiences.

Sameer Khetarpal, Managing Director & CEO of Jubilant FoodWorks Ltd, stated, “Currently, our primary focus is on expanding Domino’s and Popeyes, our two key growth brands. We plan to scale Domino’s to 3,000 outlets within three years. We also anticipate Popeyes becoming the fastest restaurant brand to reach 100 stores, with plans to add 30-50 new outlets annually. For other brands, we are making strategic capital allocation choices until they establish a profitable model.”

Domino’s currently operates 2,139 restaurants in India, while JFL’s total network spans 3,260 stores across six markets: India, Turkey, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Azerbaijan, and Georgia.

Faster Expansion with Tech Integration

JFL emphasized that Elate is a major step in building an integrated and efficient food-tech ecosystem.

“Technology is a key differentiator for us as a food services company. This innovation enhances customer experience, optimizes operations, and supports faster expansion into new cities and smaller towns. It will also drive growth by enabling better cross-selling, upselling, and efficient rider management, especially as we double down on 20-minute deliveries,” Khetarpal said. Elate has been developed by JFL’s 250-member team specializing in product, UX, technology, and data science.

Market Strategy and Inflationary Challenges

On inflationary pressures, Khetarpal noted, “Inflation impacts commodities, labor, and utilities costs. However, we have not raised prices in the last nine quarters, which has helped us gain market share. Instead, we have focused on delivering greater value to consumers through initiatives such as free delivery.”

Meanwhile, JFL is rolling out a guaranteed 20-minute delivery service in the top seven cities, reinforcing its commitment to speed and customer satisfaction.
