JSW Energy to commission 5 GWh battery assembly unit in Pune in Q3.

JSW Energy is preparing to operationalise its 5 GWh battery assembly plant in Pune, Maharashtra, during the third quarter of the current financial year, a senior company official said.

During an investor call, Sharad Mahendra, Joint Managing Director and CEO of JSW Energy, announced that the trial runs for the company’s green hydrogen project at Vijayanagar, with a capacity of 3,800 tonnes per annum (TPA), are nearing completion and the project is expected to be commissioned shortly.

The Pune facility, designed for battery assembly with a 5 GWh annual capacity, marks a significant step in JSW Energy’s transition toward energy storage and green technology as part of its broader clean energy expansion strategy.
