IBM gets add-on deal from Idea Cellular

Bangalore: IBM has bagged a Rs 93-crore ($19.2 million) add-on deal from Idea Cellular to integrate the information technology operations of the telecom operator in two circles of Punjab and Karnataka.

Idea Cellular recently launched its services in these two circles after it acquired Spice Communications.

The scope of the eight-year deal with IBM includes integration, transition and migration of existing Spice application, hardware, packages and products to the Idea transformed applications platform, said an IBM press release. As part of the deal, IBM would manage all IT operations and services for Idea’s business in Punjab and Karnataka.
