Google Partners with Shizen Energy to Launch Solar Power Initiative in Malaysia.

Alphabet Inc.’s Google has entered into a solar power agreement in Malaysia as part of its ongoing efforts to secure clean electricity for its global operations.

Under the deal, Google will purchase electricity from a 30-megawatt solar farm being developed by a consortium led by a local unit of Japan’s Shizen Energy Inc., the company confirmed in a statement Monday. The announcement follows an earlier report by Bloomberg News.

The solar project, located in Kedah state, aligns with Malaysia’s broader strategy to provide renewable energy solutions to corporate clients. Operations are expected to begin in 2027.

This agreement marks another step in Google’s commitment to sourcing sustainable energy worldwide and supporting regional green energy initiatives.
