GAIL ties up with Japan firm for joint LNG procurement.

GAIL has announced a tie-up with Japan's Chubu Electric Power Co to explore possibilities for collaboration in the area of joint LNG procurement.

The MoU was signed during the Gastech Conference being held in Seoul, South Korea. This is an effort by GAIL towards bridging the demand-supply gap for natural gas in the Indian market, A company statement said. The two companies will also seek to collaborate on shipping optimisation.
