Faryab province gets two transformers
Mazar-i-sharif: More than 1200 families will benefit by installation of two transformers of electricity extended from Turkmenistan in the northern Faryab province, an official said.
The two transformers one about 250 kilowatts another about 160 kilowatts were being installed in Daulatabad and Khwaja Sabz-i-Posh districts of the province, water and energy director Syed Abdul Hamid said.
He added the projects were completed by the budget of his department that will benefit over 700 families in Khwaja Sabz-i-Posh and 500 families in Daulatabad districts. The area people were provided with the free of cost electricity in Qala-i-Yangi and Char Shanghoi villages of the districts mentioned above, he continued.
Meanwhile, Governor Abdul Haq Shafiq has laid down foundation stones of three building for the district courts in three districts of the same province. The stones were being laid down in Qisar, Shereen Tagab and Gorziwan districts he added.
He informed that the double storey buildings having nine rooms, halls, water pumps and supportive wall will complete with the total cost of about $450,000 provided by Provincial Reconstruction Team.
Deputy Governor Abdul Sattar Barez said the projects will be completed in six months. In Takhar a school building of a girls' high school has been inaugurated in Chah-i-Aab district, an official informed. Eng. Muhammad Tahir Ayub, Director of the Rural Rehabilitation and Development (RRD) department said the school building having over 16 classrooms will accommodate more than 900 students.
The school building was completed in one year by financial support of Disarmament of Illegal Armed Groups (DIAG), he explained.
