Budhal-Mahore-Gool Road Project Gains Momentum in J&K.

Construction on the Megha Budhal-Mahore-Gool Road in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district is progressing at an accelerated pace, with officials on Sunday confirming that the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) is supervising the work on a war footing.

This crucial 114-km road, which links the towns of Budhal, Mahore, and Gool, is being upgraded to a National Highway double-lane specification. BRO Commanding Officer Aditya Sharma stated that work is currently underway on a 50-km stretch. "We are making efforts to ensure the construction is completed as soon as possible and as per specification," Sharma told ANI. He emphasized that once finished, the road will halve travel time to Gool, significantly boost tourism, and create employment opportunities in the area, bringing substantial socio-economic changes. The project also includes the construction of four bridges.

The Budhal-Mahore-Gool Road is a vital artery, connecting the districts of Rajouri, Reasi, and Ramban.

Rajouri-Thannamandi-Bufliaz-Surankote Road Fast-Tracked for Pir Panjal Connectivity

In a related development, the Government of India has fast-tracked work on the strategically important Rajouri-Thannamandi-Bufliaz-Surankote Road. This road is part of the broader Megha Project, designed to link the Pir Panjal region directly with the Kashmir Valley via the historic Mughal Road.

The project is also being executed under the diligent supervision of the BRO, with TBM Construction Company handling the ground operations. Key activities, including blacktopping, road widening, surface clearance, and the construction of protection walls, are ongoing across various stretches.

This highway is more than just an infrastructure project; it's a vital lifeline for the border districts of Rajouri and Poonch. Upon completion, it will offer a shorter and faster route to the Kashmir Valley, drastically reducing travel time and improving emergency accessibility for residents and security forces alike.
