Andhra gets Nabard loan for various projects

Hyderabad: The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) has sanctioned 224 road, seven bridge and seven lift irrigation projects involving a loan assistance of Rs 320.23 crore to the Andhra Pradesh Government.

A release from the bank said these projects were sanctioned under Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF – XIV) by the project sanctioning committee at its meeting held recently.

“With the sanction of these projects, the total sanction to the State Government under this fund for the current year is Rs 810.73 crore,” the release added.

NABARD sanctioned Rs 124.02 crore for lift irrigation projects which would be implemented by the Andhra Pradesh Lift Irrigation Development Corporation (APSIDC) in five districts Guntur, Khammam, Krishna, Nalgonda and West Godavari. Once completed, these projects would provide assured irrigation to 10,296 hectares of land.
