Zoho Corporation significantly bolstered its research and development (R&D) capabilities with the inauguration of a new campus in Kottarakkara, Kerala, on Wednesday. The global technology company also announced the acquisition of Asimov Robotics, a key move to further its deep tech ambitions.
The new campus was officially opened by Chief Minister Pinarayan Vijayan and Finance Minister KN Balagopal, with Zoho Corp.'s leadership, including Shailesh Davey (Co-founder and CEO), Tony Thomas (Co-founder and CEO, Zoho US), and Sridhar Vembu (Co-founder and Chief Scientist), in attendance.
With a seating capacity of 250, the Kottarakkara campus will initially focus on AI and robotics research. This expansion builds on Zoho Corp.'s existing presence in the town, where it opened an office in 2024 and has been actively recruiting talent from Kottarakkara and surrounding areas.
In addition to the new campus and acquisition, Zoho Corp. has partnered with the Kerala Startup Mission for its deep tech Product Studio initiative. The company has also formed associations with various startups and organizations to foster a wide range of R&D collaborations, signaling a strong commitment to innovation within the region.
