"Zen Technologies Secures ₹100-Crore Order for Tank Training Simulator System"
Hyderabad-based Zen Technologies has been awarded a substantial contract worth ₹100 crore by the Ministry of Defence for its cutting-edge tank-training simulator system. This announcement marks the second major contract win for the private defense company in just over a month, following a ₹227-crore order for anti-drone systems.
Zen Technologies made this significant revelation in a regulatory filing to the stock exchange on Thursday, underscoring that their innovative system empowers tank units and sub-units to engage in training on real terrains under authentic conditions while using their equipment, all without the necessity for live ammunition.
The in-house developed and tested system is designed to enable live training in an operational environment with simulated firing effects. This capability allows mechanized forces to conduct force-on-force two-sided exercises effectively.
Zen Technologies emphasized that the system can be customized to suit the main battle tank (MBT) and armored fighting vehicles (AFVs) of any army across the world. It is purpose-built to evaluate the skills of a tank crew and accurately record the outcomes of tactical engagements between AFVs. The system leverages advanced technology and eye-safe lasers to precisely simulate tank fire, detect hits, and incorporate high-fidelity simulations to ensure realism and objectivity in training.
The company is optimistic about strong demand for this system in both domestic and international markets in the future. Zen Technologies believes that its system, aligned with the simulators framework issued by the Defence Ministry in September 2021, will not only lead to significant cost savings but also streamline training processes, ultimately benefiting the defense sector.
