Wipro inks joint venture pact with DIAL

Bangalore: IT firm Wipro and Delhi International Airport have formed a joint venture under which Wipro will offer IT services to airports across the country and abroad.

Wipro will own 74 per cent stake in the joint venture, Wipro Airport IT Services and DIAL will hold the rest.

The joint venture will be DIAL’s innovation partner and will focus on emerging business models and technologies for airports. It also plans to build competencies in airport-specific applications.

DIAL and Wipro have also signed a 10-year total outsourcing deal for providing IT infrastructure and services to the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA), New Delhi.

The total outsourcing deal will deliver business IT alignment for DIAL by combining airport solutions with Wipro’s integrated service delivery.

Wipro will be undertake complete IT management at upcoming T3 Terminal of DIAL for 10 years and the work includes airport-specific applications, data centre networks, security and surveillance systems and end-user systems. It will also be responsible for managing building management systems, access control, public address and telephony.
