Vizag Port discharge record cargo

Visakhapatnam: The Visakhapatnam port established a record on February 2 by discharging 4,913 tonnes of alumina powder in bulk with a gang shift output of 328 tonnes from the vessel, m.v. Kanda, at EQ-6, surpassing the previous best discharge of 4,719 tonnes with a gang shift output of 315 tonnes on November 29.

The cargo was imported by Bharat Alumina Co Ltd, Korba, Chattisgarh. Orissa Stevedores Ltd was the stevedores and Monship Agency Services the steamer agents for the vessel.
