UPSIDA Speeds Up Development Projects in Surajpur Area Near Noida.

Following instructions from Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA) has expedited several major infrastructure projects in the Surajpur industrial area of Gautam Buddh Nagar district. These initiatives are part of the state’s broader goal of attracting large-scale investment and driving economic growth, with a focus on making Uttar Pradesh a $1 trillion economy, according to UPSIDA Chairman Mayur Maheshwari.

Maheshwari, a senior IAS officer, highlighted that under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's leadership, UPSIDA is committed to upgrading the state's industrial infrastructure. "These projects will benefit not only industrialists but also the local population, creating job opportunities and fostering economic growth," he said.

A key component of UPSIDA’s push is the fast-tracked development of infrastructure in Surajpur. One of the major projects is the construction of a three-lane flyover at EPIP Kasna, which will ease traffic congestion and improve connectivity. Costing Rs 18.36 crore, the flyover, slated for completion by March 2025, will provide direct access to the UPSIDA industrial area from the Noida-Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressways.

Further road maintenance and upgrades are underway in Industrial Area Site-5 and EPIP Kasna, with an investment of Rs 7.24 crore. These improvements are expected to be completed by December and will enhance transportation efficiency for industrialists.

In addition, UPSIDA is constructing two new entry gates in Industrial Area Sikandrabad for Rs 63.08 lakh, set to be finished by the end of this month. These new gates are aimed at improving access and traffic flow for industry stakeholders.

To address infrastructure gaps, UPSIDA is also focusing on extensive drainage and sewer line work in Surajpur. Projects worth Rs 3.42 crore for cleaning and extending sewer lines in Surajpur Site-C are underway. In Industrial Area Site-5, Kasna, Rs 3.26 crore has been allocated for new drains and bridges.

In response to waterlogging issues in Sikandrabad, UPSIDA has engaged IIT Delhi for a survey, with an RCC drain proposal worth Rs 64.18 crore aimed at long-term drainage solutions.

Additionally, UPSIDA is introducing sewage treatment plants in EPIP Kasna and Surajpur Site-B to improve wastewater management. Tenders have been issued for these plants as part of a broader sustainability effort.

To maintain cleanliness and operational efficiency, UPSIDA is also conducting annual maintenance work, including cleaning drains, culverts, and roads, with a combined cost exceeding Rs 7.35 crore. Measures are also being taken to reduce dust, including resurfacing roads, regularly watering them, and planting grass along road verges.

Maheshwari emphasized that these infrastructure projects are being developed to meet international standards and attract global investors to Uttar Pradesh. With these efforts, UPSIDA is transforming Surajpur into a key industrial hub, poised to drive economic growth and investment in the region.
