UNIT clears 99 hotel projects in Srilanka

The Unit for National Investment in Tourism (UNIT), providing facilities for investors to discuss their issues in investing in the tourism sector, has so far cleared 99 hotel projects for construction. According to an official of the Sri Lanka Tourism, altogether 189 applications have been received with a total number of 10,750 rooms involving an investment of US$ 1.785 billion.

UNIT is now engaged in clearing the remaining 90 projects covering 2,242 rooms with a further investment of US$ 1416.26 million.
