UK food company sets up facility for ready-to-eat pouches

Hyderabad: Veetee Fine Foods, a UK-based food products company, has unveiled a range of ready-to-eat microwave pouches, including rice and curries.

The company has set up a $3-million facility in Haryana to produce 60 lakh pouches (a year) of ready-to-eat pouches. “Our products conform to all major food standards including HACCP and KOSHER,” said Mr Aayushman Gupta, Chief Executive Officer.

While the rice-based dishes are priced at Rs 40 (250 gm), paneer-based dishes are put at Rs 60 and other curries at Rs 50 (300 gm each).

The company also announced the launch of branded, packed basmati rice in two variants — brown and organic.
