UAE Signals Fresh $25 Billion Investment Push into India, Eyes $100 Billion Long-Term Goal
The United Arab Emirates has indicated plans to invest an additional $25 billion in India, deepening economic ties between the two countries and expanding cooperation across infrastructure, energy, logistics, technology and financial markets.
Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal announced the investment intent after the 14th India-UAE High Level Joint Task Force on Investments meeting held in Mumbai on September 28. The UAE’s longer-term objective is to take its overall investments in India to around $100 billion.
The proposed investments are expected to span ports, shipbuilding, logistics, energy, space, Indian startups and capital markets. The two countries are also exploring stronger cooperation in strategic petroleum reserves, LNG and LPG supplies, shipping infrastructure, artificial intelligence, fintech and emerging technologies.
Goyal said the UAE has already invested around $25 billion in India and is currently India’s seventh-largest source of foreign direct investment. Earlier official data placed cumulative UAE FDI into India at $25.19 billion between April 2000 and March 2025.
The latest commitment could create significant opportunities for Indian infrastructure developers, engineering companies, logistics providers, energy businesses and technology startups.
The announcement also highlights the growing strategic economic partnership between India and the UAE, with bilateral trade already reaching about $100 billion and both countries targeting further expansion in the coming years.
