TII opens eBikes unit in Chennai

Chennai: Tube Investments of India (TII), part of the Murugappa Group, announced their venture into the eBikes segment. Mr M.M. Murugappan, Chairman, TII, inaugurated the eBikes factory at Ambattur, with a production capacity of 100 BSA-branded eBikes a day in the low and high speed categories, says a press release from the company.

The release quotes Mr M.M. Murugappan, “The eBikes is presently a Rs 450-crore market in India and the industry is expected to double in a year’s time. BSA’s foray into the eBikes category helps us to expand our portfolio in the two wheeler market.” He also added, “The eBikes would effectively combat the rising fuel prices and would be a preferred option among the youth.
