Telangana Government Explores Establishing Health Tourism Hub.
Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy announced recently that his government is considering the establishment of a 'health tourism hub' in Hyderabad, aimed at offering comprehensive treatment for a variety of diseases.
Reddy revealed plans to develop the hub on 500-1,000 acres near the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport on the outskirts of the city. The initiative aims to attract renowned firms in the healthcare sector to set up their facilities within the hub.
Highlighting that numerous patients from Middle Eastern countries visit India for medical treatment, Reddy emphasized the government's intention to create facilities tailored to their needs. He shared this vision during the 24th foundation day celebrations of the Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer Hospital and Research Institute (BIACH&RI) in Hyderabad.
The event was attended by notable figures including popular Telugu actor N Balakrishna, son of the legendary N T Rama Rao, who serves as the Chairman of BIACH&RI. Reddy also commented on the necessity for increased diligence, noting that the Telangana government must work even harder following TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu's return to office in neighboring Andhra Pradesh.
He advocated for a spirit of competition between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh in the realms of development and welfare. Additionally, Reddy took the opportunity to honor the late N T Rama Rao's significant contributions to politics and governance, including his introduction of innovative schemes like providing one kg of rice for two rupees.
