Tata Projects eyes smart city deals.

Tata Projects will look to bid for tenders priced upwards of Rs. 100 crore in the smart city and allied infrastructure space, according to Gautam Balakrishnan, Vice-President & Head – Smart Cities Business.

The smart cities business vertical of the company came up in September this year.

The vertical will act as 'master integrators' and bid for projects relating to smart cities and its allied infrastructure.

This includes work on wide area Wi-Fi, putting in place solid waste management systems, security and surveillance solutions.

It is also looking to bid for road projects such as 'smart' toll collection processes and reducing leakages in the system by bringing down human intervention.

'We are open to participating in government tenders that range upwards of Rs. 100 crore,' Balakrishnan said on the sidelines of “Urban Infrastructure Conclave' organised by The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI).
