Tata Power Signs Pact with Druk Green to Build Renewable Energy Skills Framework in Bhutan.
Tata Power recently said it has signed an initial agreement with Druk Green Power Corporation (DGPC) to develop a training framework aimed at supporting Bhutan’s target of building 5,000 MW of clean energy capacity.
The initiative will focus on creating a skilled workforce for the country’s expanding renewable energy sector, with training programmes to be conducted through the Tata Power Skill Development Institute (TPSDI), the company said in a statement.
“This partnership with DGPC underscores our collective vision of creating a future-ready talent ecosystem for Bhutan’s growing clean energy sector,” Praveer Sinha, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Tata Power, said.
The collaboration is expected to strengthen technical capabilities and workforce readiness in areas linked to hydropower and other renewable energy projects as Bhutan accelerates its clean energy expansion plans.
