Tata Global to invest Rs. 100 cr in tea packaging unit.

Tata Global Beverages plans to invest Rs. 100 crore for setting up a tea packaging unit with a capacity of 36 million kg at Odisha’s Gopalpur Industrial Park. The industrial park is being developed by Tata Steel Special Economic Zone Ltd.

The tea packaging plant will cater to Tata Global’s Indian market and is scheduled to be operational by 2020. Tata Global Beverages sells Tata Tea, Tetley, Himalayan natural mineral water, Tata Water Plus and Tata Gluco+, Good Earth tea, Grand Coffee and Eight O’clock coffee.

At full capacity, the plant will generate employment for about 650 persons.

The Gopalpur Industrial Park is located on NH-16 near Berhampur. With plug-and-play infrastructure, multi-modal logistics connectivity, ready environmental clearance and clear land title, the Gopalpur Industrial park is emerging as the preferred investment destination.
