Tangail power plant starts operation

Dhaka: A 22-megawatt power plant comes into operation at Tangail.

Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser for Energy, Power and Mineral Resources has inaugurated the new power plant as chief guest while Power Division Secretary Dr M Fauzul Karim Khan presented in the inaugural ceremony.

At present, the power generation varies from 2900 MW to 3335 MW against the demand of 5000 MW. Due to shortage of power production, residents at different parts of the country experience severe power outages.

The Doreen Power Generations and System Limited constructed the power plant.
