Tamil Nadu Converts 73.5% of MoUs Signed Since 2021; 35% Projects Now Operational
Tamil Nadu has converted 73.53 per cent of the Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) signed since 2021 into projects in advanced stages, with over a third already operational, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin said on Thursday.
Addressing the Conversion Conclave 2026, Stalin said that since the DMK government returned to power in 2021, the State has signed 1,179 MoUs attracting investments worth ₹12.37 lakh crore and generating employment potential for 36.52 lakh people.
Of these, 867 projects have reached advanced stages, reflecting a conversion rate of 73.53 per cent, while 35.11 per cent of the projects are already operational, he said. “This data is for all those who have been asking questions about the conversion of the MoUs,” the Chief Minister remarked.
At the event, Industries Minister TRB Rajaa presented a scorecard outlining the investments secured over the past five years and the progress achieved in translating commitments into grounded projects.
The conclave highlighted the State government’s focus on ensuring that investment commitments result in tangible economic outcomes, including job creation and industrial growth.
