Tamil Nadu CM Stalin Inaugurates ₹737.88 Crore Projects, Distributes ₹4,268 Crore in Welfare Assistance.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Friday inaugurated multiple development projects worth ₹737.88 crore in Ramanathapuram district and provided government welfare assistance totaling ₹4,268 crore to 50,752 beneficiaries.

At a ceremony held in Peravoor near Ramanathapuram, CM Stalin inaugurated the newly constructed bus stand covering 16,909 square feet, which began construction in 2023 at a cost of ₹20 crore. In addition to the bus stand, Stalin inaugurated several completed projects and laid foundation stones for new initiatives aimed at improving infrastructure and public amenities in the district. The event was attended by several ministers, MPs, and MLAs.

Earlier in the week, Stalin visited the upgraded Tholkappia Poonga Eco Park in Raja Annamalaipuram, Chennai. Developed by the Chennai Rivers Restoration Trust (CRRT) under the Department of Municipal Administration and Water Supply, the park’s ₹42.45 crore revitalisation project includes a new entrance gateway, watchtower, visitor gallery, children’s play area, walkways, food court, open-air theatre, and CCTV surveillance among other modern amenities.

The Tholkappia Poonga, originally laid out in 2008 and opened to the public in 2011 by former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi, had seen deterioration over time. Under Stalin’s directives, CRRT prepared a detailed redevelopment plan in 2021 to restore and upgrade the park for public use.

During his visit to the Eco Park, Stalin planted a Kondrai sapling and urged officials to open the upgraded facility to the public as soon as possible.

This series of inaugurations and welfare disbursements underscores the Tamil Nadu government’s continued focus on regional development and social support programs.
