SolarEdge, a leading Israeli renewables firm, has officially inaugurated its new Research & Development (R&D) and technology centre in Bengaluru. This strategic move is set to bolster the company's research, product development, and technical operations, further solidifying its expanding footprint in India's burgeoning Photovoltaic (PV) sector.

The newly launched facility is designed to support SolarEdge's innovation pipeline, focusing on solutions that maximize the efficiency of PV systems. The company's portfolio is well-known for its inverter and storage solutions, alongside a sophisticated cloud-based monitoring platform. SolarEdge specializes in module-level power electronics for PV systems, which are crucial for converting sunlight into electricity efficiently.

As part of its ambitious expansion plans, SolarEdge intends to significantly grow its local team. The company aims to add 200 new employees by the end of calendar year 2027. This will build upon its current workforce of 400 professionals spread across its technology, R&D, sales and marketing, and service support teams in India.

SolarEdge first entered the Indian market in 2017 and has since established itself as a key player in the renewables landscape. The Bengaluru R&D centre marks a critical step in its commitment to innovation and growth in one of the world's most dynamic solar energy markets.
