Siemens to invest Rs.9.6 Billion on wind power biz in Denmark Mumbai: Siemens will invest over euro 150 million in Denmark to further expand its global wind power business in the next two years.

Two new research and development centres will to be set up in Brande and Aalborg there.

Siemens will match the capacity of its Danish production plants to the rising demand for offshore wind turbines in Europe.

The investments in R&D and the extension of production facilities will pave the road for our global expansion.

In 2010, Siemens opened two new wind turbine production plants in China and the US. Further production facilities are planned in the UK, Canada, Russia and India.

They intend to continue expanding global manufacturing network and to step up our sales activities in key markets. The two new research and development centres will help to push ahead with technology lead in wind power business.

Siemens Wind Power operates research and development centres in Aachen (Germany), Taastrup (Denmark), Sheffield and Keele (UK), the Hague (Netherlands) and in Boulder (US).
