"SECI Calls for Bids to Choose Developers for 1 GW Renewable Energy Power Supply"
"Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) Initiates Bidding Process for 1 GW Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy Power Supply"
The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has opened the bidding process to select developers for the supply of 1,000 megawatts (MW) of firm and dispatchable power from Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS)-connected Renewable Energy (RE) projects in India.
The selection of successful bidders will be determined through the Tariff-based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) mechanism, emphasizing a competitive and transparent process. The state-controlled agency has released a Request for Selection (RfS), inviting proposals for the establishment of ISTS-connected RE projects, specifically geared to deliver 1,000 MW of firm and dispatchable RE (FDRE) power. This power supply will follow a demand-following pattern from ISTS-connected RE projects.
To facilitate the implementation of the projects, SECI specifies that they should be executed on a Build-Own-Operate (BOO) basis. Upon successful bidding, SECI will enter into a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the selected developers, outlining the terms of power purchase for a duration of 25 years.
To address any queries and ensure a comprehensive understanding of the bidding process, a pre-bid meeting is scheduled for December 11, 2023. Developers interested in participating in the bidding process are required to submit their bids by January 9, 2024, marking the deadline for this significant initiative in advancing India's renewable energy landscape.
