SEBI's allows NBFCs & FII to invest in infrastructure development funds (IDFs)

SEBI has broadened the policy definition of strategic investors, according to the new policy strategic investors type also includes foreign institutional investors (FIIs) and non-banking financial institutions (NBFCs) registered with RBI. This new initiatives paving way for a number of FIIs like California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS) and sovereign funds like Norges Bank and Temasek has become eligible to invest in infrastructure development funds (IDFs) in India. The move is to induce fund flows into infrastructure.
