Saket City Hospital aiming for 2,000 bed capacity by 2022.

Saket City Hospital, part of the diversified BK Modi-led Smart Global group, plans to expand its network with an aim to have 2,000 beds by 2022 in north India.

The hospital, which today announced Rs. 300 crore expansion of its facility at Saket in South Delhi is also keeping options open to acquire existing healthcare facilities. It is looking to tap markets in smaller cities.

'We are planning to take our capacity from 600 to 2,000 beds by 2022. We are working on that. Expansion of our facility at Saket will be complete by the end of 2017 and after that we would expand further,' Smart Global group Chairman BK Modi said.

Commenting on locations where the company would open new hospitals, he said: 'Our target is Northern India. We would try to create spoke in the region.'

He, however, declined to share investment details for the proposed expansion.
