Sabarimala works to be completed in a week.

The Construction, maintenance and rebuilding works at Sabarimala, Pampa and Nilackal would be completed by the first week of November, Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) president A. Padmakumar has said. Addressing a meeting of top TDB officials here on Tuesday, Mr. Padmakumar said 20 more resting centres would be set up this year. The work on improving the basic infrastructure facilities at the resting centres would be completed before November 5.

The work on construction of toilets, bathrooms, refuse treatment plant, sheds and such others in Pampa is nearing completion.

More facilities would be provided for pilgrims at the resting centres at the Achencoil, Aryankavu and Kulathurpuzha temples. ‘Annadanam’ would be provided for pilgrims at temples at Vandiperiyar, Mundakkayam, Erumely, Ettumannur, Vaikom and Tirunakkara. Green protocol would be enforced strictly, Mr. Padmakumar said.

Devaswom Commissioner N. Vasu, deputy commissioners, assistant commissioners and other officials also attended the meeting.
