RVNL Wins ₹3,622-Crore BharatNet Project Contract from BSNL.

Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd (RVNL) has been awarded a ₹3,622.14 crore contract from Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) for the development and maintenance of the BharatNet middle mile network. The company received the Letter of Acceptance on January 15, 2025.

The project will be executed under a Design Build Operate and Maintain (DBOM) model, with RVNL leading a consortium that includes HFCL and ATS. The scope of work involves upgrading and maintaining network infrastructure critical for BharatNet, India’s flagship rural broadband initiative.

The project is structured into two phases: a three-year construction period and a 10-year maintenance contract. During the maintenance phase, RVNL will earn an annual fee of 5.5% of the capital expenditure (capex) for the first five years, which will increase to 6.5% for the subsequent five years.

RVNL clarified that the project is part of its routine business operations and does not involve any related party transactions.
