Road construction work starts in Logar
Pul-i-alam: The construction work of 22 km road from Pul-i-Alam, provincial capital of central Logar province to Charkh district began on Sunday.
Abdul Ahad Haqbin, public works department head of Logar province said the work of the road will be completed in one year.
He said the road will solve the transportation problems of the district.
Eng. Syed Khan Ahmadzai, an official of public works ministry said the construction of the road will cost about $4 million granted from World Bank.
He said the road construction was due early, but due to armed attacks it was postponed.
A day back an Afghan Engineer working with Turkish Road Company was abducted.
Abdullah Wardak, Logar governor said provincial reconstruction team in Logar pledged to asphalt the roads between Pul-i-Alam - Kharwar district and Pul-i-Alam- Azra disrtricts.
He added the construction work of the roads will begin in a month.
