RIL to beigin gas production from KG field
Kolkata: Reliance Industries will start gas production from KG D6 field in the next week. IT has informed to gas transmission agencies GAIL ((India) and Gujarat State Petronet (GSPL) that gas is expected to start flowing to western and northern markets by the first week of April.
GAIL will carry the gas to a large part of the northern markets, GSPL will transport it to consumers in Gujarat. Both the transmission companies have created the necessary infrastructure and had been waiting for RIL to confirm the delivery schedule.
The energy value of the gas was expected to be not less than 8500 Kcal/standard cubic metre.
The initial production would be used in building adequate pressure in Reliance’s East-West trunk pipeline.
According to available information, the trunk pipeline has a capacity to carry approximately 125 million standard cubic metre a day (mscmd) against an initial production of approximately 5 mscmd.
