Rajasthan Builds 48,748 km of Roads with ₹33,195 Crore Investment, CM Reviews Progress.

Bhajan Lal Sharma recently reviewed key road infrastructure projects in Rajasthan and directed officials to ensure transparency, quality control, and timely completion of construction works across the state.

Chairing a review meeting of the Public Works Department at the Chief Minister’s Residence, he instructed officials of the Public Works Department, Rajasthan and the National Highways Authority of India to carry out regular inspections, strengthen monitoring mechanisms, and fix accountability in cases of substandard work.

According to an official press release, the Chief Minister also reviewed proposed greenfield expressway projects and discussed major connectivity plans linking Jalore–Jhalawar, Sri Ganganagar–Kotputli, and Ajmer–Banswara. He also examined progress on the northern section of the Jaipur Ring Road project.

Officials informed the meeting that during the current government’s tenure of two years and five months, road development works covering 48,748 km have been completed in Rajasthan at an expenditure of ₹33,195 crore. This includes 17,934 km of newly constructed roads, while 1,756 villages have been connected through improved road infrastructure.

They added that 6,184 km of district and rural roads have been upgraded to major district roads, while under the Atal Pragati Path programme, 378 km of roads have been completed, connecting 256 villages.

The government also highlighted comparative figures from the previous administration, stating that during a similar period, 30,641 km of roads were constructed at a cost of ₹13,400 crore, including 4,671 km of new roads and connectivity to 280 villages.

The Chief Minister further reviewed ongoing development works in Bharatpur district, directing officials to adhere to timelines and address issues related to waterlogging, road widening, drainage systems, sports infrastructure, and park development.

Senior officials, including Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Akhil Arora, Additional Chief Secretary (Public Works Department) Praveen Gupta, and representatives of the National Highways Authority of India and the Public Works Department, attended the meeting.
