Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) for a project awarded by South Eastern Railway for the supply, installation and commissioning of an IP-based video surveillance system in LHB coaches.

The scope of work includes the deployment of a four-camera video surveillance system in line with RDSO specifications, along with rugged handheld terminals or tablets and 8 TB external solid-state drives. The systems will be installed in LHB coaches as per the latest standards prescribed by the Research Designs and Standards Organisation (RDSO).

The contract is valued at ₹87.56 crore, excluding GST. The project is aimed at enhancing passenger safety and security across trains operated by South Eastern Railway.
