Project worth Rs 2,450 crore cleared by TN Govt

Chennai: The Tamil Nadu government cleared five investment projects worth Rs 2,450 crore for Ford India (engine plant and the second phase of expansion), Cheyyar SEZ Developers (footwear manufacturing facility by Feng Tay group), Saint Gobain (expanding its float glass capacity), Delphi-TVS and Gangotri Textiles.

The state government also cleared proposals for establishing Country Specific Industrial Parks of 100 acres for investors from Japan , Korea , Finland , Germany and France in Vallam, Vadakkal and Poodanur villages in Sriperumbudur.

A proposal to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Kanakawa Prefecture of Japan was also cleared.
