PQA ropes in ECIL for 45-km long water front project

Karachi: Port Qasim Authority (PQA) has signed a contract with M/s ECIL, a consulting firm to study and suggest development plan for PQA's 45-kilometre long water front from Gizri creek to Gharo.

According to a PQA press release, the consultant has been assigned to suggest the best use of PQA coastal area and improve the skyline along the coast, which will include building of a number of terminals along the Bundal/Khipianwala Island requiring deeper draught.

One of the major projects would be the forthcoming LNG terminal along side, which is estimated to be a multi billion-dollar project. The task is to be completed in a stipulated period of six months.
