Powergrid commissions sub-station in Afghanistan

New Delhi: Powergrid Corporation of India (PGCIL), has commissioned the Chimtala sub-station in Afghanistan capital of Kabul.

The Sub-station is the terminal link in the NEPS transmission system in Afghanistan that imports power from Uzbekistan to Kabul. The 202 km long transmission project costs Rs 405 crore.

The setting up of the Chimtala sub-station has established power flow to Kabul from Uzbekistan.
