Kochi: M r W. Madziar, Second Secretary, Embassy of Poland, New Delhi, visited the Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry here to explain the facilities available for investing in Poland.
During the interaction, he said that there is potential to raise the present $600 million trade volume between Poland and India to $1 billion and in due course to $3 billion. Since Poland needs rubber, seafood and tea it may be of interest to Kerala to promote export of these items to the Polish market.
At present, Poland imports lot of rubber, tea and coffee from Sri Lanka. Poland is very strong in maritime and food processing industry as well as in the field of manufacture of sophisticated machinery and equipment for power plants, equipment for railway and road transport infrastructure development etc.
