PMC Budget 2015: Flyovers, bridges proposed.

The traffic issue continues to be a major concern for the PMC and the elected representatives have made an effort to address it by making an additional budgetary provision in comparison to that proposed by the civic administration for 2015-16.

Among the major projects proposed by the standing committee members in the draft budget tabled in the general body meeting is a two-km flyover on Sinhagad road from Vithal temple in Hingne Khurd till Vadgaon phata. The proposal for the flyover finds place in the estimate budget after the Supreme Court rejected the PMC’s appeal against the NGT order to realign the alternative road that was under construction alongside Mutha river.

A flyover is proposed on Pune-Solapur Road near Ghorpadi and Pune-Miraj railway line. The corporators have also proposed a grade separator or a flyover at Golf Chowk in Yerawada and an underpass at Gunjan Chowk in Yerawada in Nagar Road area.

A bridge on the Mutha river has been proposed from Sangamwadi to Sudharshan Chemicals near RTO junction.
