PM to lay foundation stone for new Mandovi bridge.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone for a new bridge over river Mandovi on 14th of June 2014, when he is scheduled to inaugurate the Indian Navy's shore-based test facility at INS Hansa at Vasco, sources in the Goa BJP said.

Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the Navy's new facility at 2.45pm after which, he will come to Panaji to lay the foundation stone for the new bridge over the Mandovi.

The new bridge will be a cable-stayed bridge between the two existing bridges. It will cost an estimated Rs. 466 crore and the project has already been tendered, sources in the Goa state infrastructure development corporation (GSIDC) said.
