Phoenix Group plans 5-star hotel in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad: Bangalore headquartered Phoenix Group Global is planning to set up a five-star luxury hotel-cum-resort on the outskirts of Ahmedabad.

Having begun scouting for land, the group plans to commission the project within two years.

“The 160 rooms huge hotel will be spread across an area of two to two and half acres. Including the cost of the land, we hope to invest anywhere between Rs 175 crore and Rs 200 crore for the hospitality project,” said Aditya Kamani, director of Phoenix Group Global.

The hospitality player recently launched its first five-star hotel project under the brand ‘Zuri Hotels and Resorts’ in Bangalore.

In the hospitality sector, the group has projects worth Rs 650 crore across the country and plans to add more such hotels and resorts in tier II cities similar to Ahmedabad.

However, the company is also open to product differentiation in hospitality sector. “We are open to product differentiation and are ready to go for sub-branding given the availability of land and location,” added Kamani. Talking about the Zuri brand, Priti Chand, director of Phoenix Group Global said, “The Zuri brand is the personification of a premium luxury international chain of hotels. With such a brand name, we intend to offer unique experience of contemporary style, pleasure and comfort. Zuri Hotels and Resort will aim to be stylish, urban, young, dynamic and exciting in its efforts to differentiate itself as a progressive hospitality brand.”

Of the total 160 rooms, the Zuri hotels will host two presidential suites and four executive suites, apart from offering five food and beverages option including an Italian restaurant, a Pan-Asian restaurant, coffee shop and a bar as well as a heated swimming pool and gymnasium.The hotel also provides various banqueting and conferencing facilities.
