Pak grants Rs 200-mn for provision of gas

Islamabad: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has approved a grant of Rs 200 million for providing natural gas to Tehsil Ahmedpur Sial in district Jhang.

The Prime Minister has taken the decision in a meeting with a delegation from Jhang, comprising Pakistan Muslim League-Q MNA Sahibzada Mahboob Sultan, PML-Q MPA Najaf Abbas Khan Sial and other notables of the area, who called on him at the PM's House.

The Prime Minister said the government was taking numerous measures for providing basic necessities of life to the people at the doorstep in all parts of the country, including the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), which aimed at providing relief to the poorest segment of the society.

He said under this scheme, the government was disbursing funds across the board in an indiscriminate manner.
