Orissa Govt plans to set up Port based Industries in Dhamara Port

Orissa:The Orissa government has decided to develop various port based industries near Dhamara Port, which is being set up jointly by Tata Steel and L&T in Bhadrak district.


The ship building yard is proposed to be set up near Dhamara, the committee, is identifying various ancillary and downstream units which can be located there.


The possibility of setting up a petro-chemical and gas based hub would also be explored. Apart from priority on import based and export oriented units, the committee would also identify other industries suitable for the location.

IL&FS has been entrusted to prepare a zoning plan, administrative structure, acts and rules required for the governance of the Special Investment Region (SIR) proposed in Dhamara.
